In October 2025, the functional forces of Khanh Hoa province will continue to deploy a peak period of patrolling, controlling, and enforcing fisheries laws, focusing on handling violations such as fishing vessels not arriving at designated ports, not qualified to operate, or violating illegal, unreported, and unregulated (IUU) fishing in the province's waters.
As a result, during the month, the units did not detect any violations related to IUU fishing activities.
At the same time, the authorities issued 14 certificates of authenticity for 179.5 tons of seafood and certificates of exploited seafood for 5 shipments, with a total volume of 83.4 tons, exported to the EU market.
Currently, 100% of fishing vessels in the province have been registered, marked and fully updated with information in the National Fisheries Database System (VNFishbase).
In addition, there are 7 fishing vessels that are not qualified to operate and are currently anchored at the shore and are being closely monitored to ensure compliance with legal regulations on fisheries exploitation.
Closely controlling and monitoring fishing vessel activities is one of the key solutions to help Khanh Hoa maintain positive results in the fight against IUU fishing, contributing to removing the "yellow card" of the European Commission (EC) for Vietnamese seafood.
The Khanh Hoa Provincial IUU Steering Committee requires all levels, sectors, localities and fishing communities in the province to uphold their sense of responsibility, voluntarily comply with the law, conduct legal exploitation, be responsible for aquatic resources and sustainable development in the future, resolutely not participate or assist in IUU fishing.
The authorities have synchronously deployed patrol, supervision and strict handling measures to ensure compliance with legal regulations.
The authorities of coastal localities must directly direct, control, and strictly manage unqualified fleets, proactively propagate and mobilize, and not let local fishing vessels violate IUU regulations.
Each fisherman must truly be a "pioneering fighter" on the front against IUU fishing, joining hands to maintain the prestige and image of the province's fishing industry.
