From the information provided by witnesses, to ensure accuracy and collect more data sources, on August 19, a working delegation of the Hue City Military Command led by Colonel Ha Van Ai - Deputy Political Commissar surveyed the area suspected of having a martyr's grave in the North of Phuoc Tuong Pass, in Phuoc Tuong village, Phu Loc commune, Hue city.
According to information provided by witnesses and sources from the Steering Committee for searching, repatriating and identifying martyrs' remains (Steering Committee 515) of Hue city, during the resistance war against the US from 1968 to 1970, there were 4 trips carrying about 140 bodies of officers and soldiers of our army who sacrificed to be buried in the northern area of Phuoc Tuong pass, now Phuoc Tuong village, Phu Loc commune, Hue city.
To ensure the accuracy of information sources, as a basis for advising the City Steering Committee 515 to organize conferences, search for and repatriate martyrs' remains, the working delegation of the Hue City Military Command met with some witnesses who had witnessed the incident, and elderly people in the locality to consolidate information data.
Colonel Ha Van Ai - Deputy Political Commissar of Hue City Military Command met, thanked the witnesses and expressed his wish that witnesses and local people continue to connect to provide more information; and at the same time requested leaders of Phu Loc and Chan May - Lang Co communes to direct the promotion of propaganda and information gathering to coordinate with Hue City Military Command in performing tasks.
Colonel Ha Van Ai also requested the Military Commands of Phu Loc, Chan May - Lang Co communes to coordinate with functional agencies and people to collect more information, verify martyr burial locations, and promptly report to the City Military Command to organize the search and repatriation of martyr remains when there is sufficient basis.
