Vietnam's largest tourist balloon first appears in Ca Mau

The largest tourist hot air balloon in Vietnam, capable of carrying 10-12 people per trip, was first demonstrated in Ca Mau province.

On the morning of August 31, at Hung Vuong Square, Bac Lieu ward, Ca Mau province, the largest tourist hot air balloon in Vietnam was officially launched, attracting a large number of people and tourists to visit.

According to information from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ca Mau province, the hot air balloon is about 28m high, 22m in diameter, with a lift capacity of 1.2-1.5 tons, capable of serving from 10-12 people per trip.

This is the largest tourist hot air balloon in Vietnam, appearing for the first time in Ca Mau, performed at Hung Vuong Square within the framework of the Heritage Culture Festival and the 1st Hot Air Balloon Festival in 2026.

At the launch, Vice Chairman of Ca Mau Provincial People's Committee Ngo Vu Thang said that the performance of the largest tourist hot air balloon in Vietnam is a highlight of the 1st Ca Mau Hot Air Balloon Festival, 2026.

The 1st Heritage Culture Festival and Hot Air Balloon Festival, 2026, was organized by Ca Mau province from August 28 to September 2 to celebrate the 81st National Day. After only 3 days of taking place, the festival attracted tens of thousands of people and tourists to have fun and visit. Especially for the first time witnessing hot air balloons in the sky of Ca Mau.

Ms. Huynh Thanh Hang, residing in Dinh Thanh commune, Ca Mau province, traveling more than 60km to Bac Lieu ward to see the hot air balloon, said that this is the first time she has witnessed this special type of tourism with her own eyes.

It's really shimmering and magical. This is the first time I've seen the hot air balloon with my own eyes, so I'm very excited," Ms. Hang shared.
