On August 19, in Nha Bich commune, Dong Nai province (formerly Chon Thanh town, Binh Phuoc province), the Provincial People's Committee organized the groundbreaking ceremony for component project 1 to invest in the construction of the North-South expressway in the West, Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh section.
The expressway project has a total length of about 124 km, of which the section passing through the former Dak Nong province (now Lam Dong province) is about 23.10 km long, the section passing through the former Binh Phuoc province (now Dong Nai province) is about 101.03 km long.
The project is planned to have a scale of 6 lanes, with a design speed of 120 km/h. In the first phase, the project is invested with a scale of 4 complete expressway lanes, with a roadbed width of 24.75m. The section through Dong Xoai is 25.5m wide (expanding the median strip to arrange the lighting system). The design speed is 120 km/h.

The project will build intersections, direct roads, and underpasses to ensure convenient connectivity, minimize community disruption, and affect people's lives.
The total investment of the project is VND 19,965 billion, of which state capital is VND 6,842 billion, capital mobilized by the investor is about VND 13,123 billion (excluding interest of VND 989 billion). The project implementation period is from 2025 to 2027.
It is known that component project 1 is invested in the form of public-private partnership with the Vingroup - Techtra Joint Venture (the joint venture member 1 is Techtra Infrastructure Investment and Development Joint Stock Company, the joint venture member 2 is Vingroup Corporation - Joint Stock Company). The contract was signed as a build-operate-transfer (BOT), under the public-private partnership method.
The project will be completed and put into operation and will collect tolls for 29 years and 4 months.
