On the morning of June 30, at Yen Binh intersection (Van Xuan ward), Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee coordinated with the investor to start the project to invest in the completion of the CT. 07 expressway section Hanoi - Thai Nguyen - Cho Moi.
Attending the groundbreaking ceremony were Mr. Le Tien Chau - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister; leaders of ministries, central agencies and some northern provinces.
On the side of Thai Nguyen province, there were Mr. Trinh Xuan Truong - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Thai Nguyen Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of Thai Nguyen Provincial People's Committee, along with leaders of departments, agencies, and sectors.
The project to invest in the completion of the CT. 07 expressway section Hanoi - Thai Nguyen - Cho Moi in the form of public-private partnership (PPP) has a total length of about 99.03 km.
The project passes through Hanoi City, Bac Ninh and Thai Nguyen.
According to the approved plan, the Hanoi - Thai Nguyen section will be expanded to 6 lanes, roadbed width 34.5m, design speed 100 km/h; the Thai Nguyen - Cho Moi section is invested on a scale of 4 lanes; roadbed width from 22 - 24.75m depending on terrain, design speed 80 - 100 km/h.
The project will build a synchronous system of intersections, bridges, tunnels, service roads, people's underpasses, drainage works and traffic safety systems.
Preparation and construction time is from 2026 to 2029; expected operating and exploitation time is 20.7 years.
The joint venture of Phuong Thanh Transport Investment and Construction Joint Stock Company - Nguyen Minh Infrastructure Development Investment Joint Stock Company - Indel Investment and Development Joint Stock Company is the investor implementing the project.
After being fully invested in construction, the Hanoi - Thai Nguyen - Cho Moi expressway will officially start toll collection in early 2028.
The completion of the CT. 07 expressway is of particular importance. This is a project connecting Thai Nguyen with Hanoi Capital; connecting the Midlands and Northern mountainous provinces with the key economic region of the North.
At the same time, gradually complete the traffic corridor from Hanoi - Thai Nguyen - Cao Bang according to national planning. Creating motivation to promote socio-economic development, consolidate national defense and security and improve regional linkage capacity.
The completed expressway will shorten the distance between localities, expand development space, create more jobs and make a positive contribution to the sustainable development of the entire region.
