On October 17, the ovation of the Seas cruise ship carrying more than 4,000 passengers and 1,565 crew members docked at Chan May port (Hue city). This is one of the major international cruise ships docking after temporarily stopping receiving ships at Cai Mep - Thi Vai.
The International Health Quarantine Department - Hue City Center for Disease Control has coordinated with the Maritime Port Authority, Border Guard and Chan May Port Customs to conduct medical quarantine. The authorities checked the maritime health declarations, monitored hygiene, prevented disease-carrying vectors and reviewed the ports that the vessels passed through.
After completing the steps, the ovation of the Seas ship was granted a Certificate of compliance with the International Health Regulations (2005), ensuring the eligibility for passengers to enter quickly and safely.
According to Saigontourist representative, from November to April next year is the peak season for international cruise ship visitors. It is expected that Chan May Port will welcome 4 more large ships such as Celebrity Millennium (November 9.11) and Celebrity Solstice (November 10, November 22, December 4), each carrying from 1,800 to 2,800 passengers.
Currently, Chan May Port is one of 46 cruise destinations in Southeast Asia and is aiming to meet international tourist port standards.
