On April 18, information from the People's Committee of Nghe An province said that the unit has issued Decision No. 1527/QD-UBND on establishing an inter-sectoral inspection team to inspect the compliance with legal regulations on ensuring food safety in the province.
According to the decision, the inspection team consists of 9 members, headed by Mr. Nguyen Van Thuong - Deputy Director of the Department of Health.
The subjects of inspection are advisory and food safety management agencies in communes and wards; organizations and individuals producing, processing, trading, importing food and catering services in the province.
The inspection content focuses on the compliance with legal regulations on food safety in the stages of production, processing, business, import of food and food services; and at the same time inspects state management of food safety in localities.
In addition, the inspection team has the task of detecting and handling violations of food safety laws (if any).
According to the plan, the delegation will conduct inspections in a surprise and periodic manner, from April 20 to May 15, 2026.
The inspection team is allowed to use the seal of the Department of Health to establish a case file, impose administrative penalties in accordance with regulations; and at the same time report the inspection results to competent authorities.
The People's Committee of Nghe An province assigned the Head of the delegation to base on the decision and plan to ensure food safety in 2026 to develop an inspection plan, submit it for approval and organize implementation. People's Committees of communes and wards are responsible for coordinating with the delegation during the inspection process in the area.
The Department of Health is assigned to preside over and coordinate with relevant departments to advise on handling violations according to the proposal of the inspection team. If necessary, the Head of the team has the right to request the Provincial People's Committee to adjust members or extend the duration of task performance.
