On February 12, the Organizing Committee of the Festival celebrating the 289th anniversary of the founding of Tao Dan Chieu Anh Cac (1736-2025) released fish fry to regenerate aquatic resources in Dong Ho lagoon. This activity aims to mobilize all people inside and outside the city to join hands to preserve and develop aquatic resources and protect the ecological environment.
According to Mr. Nguyen Hai Quoc - Vice Chairman of Ha Tien City People's Committee - every year, the profession of exploiting and raising aquatic products has brought great economic value to fishermen in Ha Tien City in particular and Kien Giang province in general.

However, overexploitation and the use of illegal fishing tools such as electric pulses, small mesh nets, fishing with nets combined with high-power lights...; the use of some prohibited occupations such as bottom trawling, dredging, and fishing with a dragnet... have caused great impacts on the marine environment as well as significantly affected the natural regeneration capacity of aquatic resources.
Regenerating aquatic resources is an urgent requirement to supplement aquatic breeds, help restore and regenerate aquatic resources, create ecological balance, and at the same time help raise people's awareness of the importance and value of aquatic resources in nature.
The quantity of aquatic products is not as abundant as before, but the marine environment and aquatic resources will be restored, regenerated and developed if used and exploited properly.
The Ha Tien City government has directed all levels and sectors to proactively coordinate and widely disseminate the benefits of aquatic resource regeneration to individuals, organizations, communities and the whole society. This activity has received enthusiastic participation from organizations, businesses and individuals.
The total number of shrimp released for regeneration this time is more than 2 million, including shrimp, crabs, and various fish. Of which, 17 organizations and individuals donated 1 million shrimp and nearly 30 million VND in cash.
