On March 19, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung and the Central working delegation inspected the reality of the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot expressway project (belonging to component project 3) through Dak Lak province.
Reporting at the scene, the investor representative confirmed that the project is more than 48 km long, with a total investment of more than 6,165 billion VND, passing through Ea Kar, Krong Pac and Cu Kuin areas (according to the old administrative unit).
To date, the total realized value has reached about 4.026/4.276 billion VND, equivalent to 94.14% of the contract value, about 0.9% behind the plan. The project still has some problems related to site clearance at intersections, resettlement arrangement and the situation of re-encroachment on construction corridors. The investor proposed that localities strengthen propaganda and mobilize people to hand over land, and at the same time complete resettlement procedures to ensure general progress.
At the inspection, leaders of Dak Lak province proposed to implement the investment project to build a road connecting the end point of the Khanh Hoa - Buon Ma Thuot expressway with the East-West axis.

According to the proposal, the project has a starting point at Km0+00 (Ea Knuec commune), connecting to the Km117+593 intersection of the expressway; the ending point is at Km5+041 (Tan Lap ward), connecting to National Highway 27 and Vo Nguyen Giap - Dam San routes. Total length is about 5 km.
The road is invested with a synchronous scale, the roadbed is 70 m wide, including 2 lanes in each direction, the median strip is 19 m wide and sidewalks on both sides. Design speed is 80 km/h. On the route, it is expected to build 2 prestressed reinforced concrete bridges through the Ea Cuor Cap lake area.
The total estimated investment is about 1,700 billion VND, of which site clearance costs are more than 800 billion VND; construction and equipment costs are about 604.5 billion VND; the rest is consulting, management and contingency costs.
According to the plan, the project will be prepared in 2026; implement compensation and resettlement in the 2026-2027 period; start construction in 2027 and strive to complete before 2030.
Reporting at the inspection, Mr. Truong Cong Thai - Vice Chairman of Dak Lak Provincial People's Committee - said that component project 3 basically meets the progress; contractors are focusing manpower and equipment to accelerate construction. The investment in the connecting road will help maximize the efficiency of the expressway, complete the transportation network, increase regional connectivity and expand urban development space.
Deputy Prime Minister Ho Quoc Dung acknowledged and highly appreciated the efforts of the investor and contractors. At the same time, he requested to continue to closely follow the progress, overcome difficulties, and accelerate construction to complete the project soon.
Regarding the connecting road project, the Deputy Prime Minister agreed with the local proposal; in which the province is responsible for allocating capital for site clearance, and the central budget supports construction costs.
