Coming to Phu Thanh Hamlet, Loc Thuan Commune, Binh Dai District these days, many people are surprised to see 5 small concrete bridges built adjacent to each other on a road less than 50m.
Mr. Truong Tan Yen - Secretary of Phu Thanh Hamlet Party Cell - said that people do not agree to build sewers or dams, because they are afraid that closing the sewers will lack irrigation water for coconut trees. Therefore, it is necessary to unify the bridge to both allow traffic and maintain the flow.
According to Mr. Yen, in Phu Thanh, coconut trees are the main source of income, so people are very careful with regulating water. People have contributed to the same locality and donated soldiers to build the bridge.
The 5 bridges will be completed and put into use from January 2025, promptly serving the travel, freight transportation and sightseeing needs of nearly 100 people here during the Lunar New Year, Mr. Yen added.
Representative of the construction unit, Mr. Le Van Truong said that each bridge costs about 17 - 18 million VND, a total of nearly 90 million VND for all 5 bridges.
Because the terrain is divided by many small canals, it has to be divided into many adjacent bridges. If concrete is poured in blocks or sewers are built, it will be both expensive and not suitable for people's needs.
"Although the road is short, many people initially found it strange to have up to 5 bridges located next to each other. However, after completion, this project is assessed to be suitable for actual conditions. The bridge surface is high, drainage is good, helping people feel secure when traveling during the rainy season," Mr. Truong added.
In particular, the appearance of 5 consecutive bridges on a road less than 50 meters long also made many people passing by curious.

Mr. Le Chi Hieu - a resident of Ben Tre City - visited a acquaintance in Binh Dai District, curiously stopping by the road because he heard "there are 5 bridges located close together in just a few dozen meters".
"I ran to see it, it was really strange. Each bridge is only a few steps apart, and before going all the way down, you can see the railing of the other bridge. fun but unique!", Mr. Hieu said.
According to Mr. Hieu, such small projects not only serve people's lives but also create highlights for the countryside, especially for visitors from other places - both seeing strangely and feeling the creativity of local people.
Rural concrete bridges in Phu Thanh hamlet not only serve travel and production but also become an interesting highlight for the Ben Tre countryside - where the construction of new rural areas is always associated with the creativity and consensus of the people.
