At about 4:00 p.m. on April 1, a man was driving a motorbike on the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway in the direction of Phan Thiet - Dong Nai, km25 through Song Phan Commune, Ham Tan District, Binh Thuan Province.
According to observations, this motorbike has the license plate 86C1, registered in Phan Thiet city. The incident caused drivers of the car on the highway to move into the lane near the median strip to avoid it. Some drivers even ran up to blow the whistle and reminded motorcyclists to get off the highway at the next intersection.
It is known that only by traveling 2 km more, up to km27 + 500, motorcyclists can get off the highway at the National Highway 55 intersection. However, if the motorbike entered the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway at the Ba Bau intersection (km), this motorbike would have illegally traveled 25 km on the expressway, posing many potential risks.
Phan Thiet - Dau Giay Expressway has been put into operation and exploitation since April 30, 2023, nearly 2 years ago. Many cases of motorbikes entering the highway have been discovered by patrol units, Traffic Police, taken off the highway and the press has promoted a lot, but up to now, there are still cases of motorbikes entering the highway.
Recently, there was an incident where a person picked up a scrap metal to ride a bicycle on this highway and was hit and killed by a truck.
It is known that at the intersections, there are patrol workers on duty at the entrances, preventing motorbikes from entering the highway. There may also be situations where there are gaps in the highway protection fence and motorbikes can enter the highway through those paths. The Highway Traffic Control Patrol Team No. 6, Department 6, Traffic Police Department is tasked with patrolling and controlling traffic on this route.
