On the afternoon of December 8, the Traffic Police Department - Nghe An Provincial Police announced that it had issued a decision to administratively fine the female driver for driving into a prohibited road, obstructing railway traffic, the fine was 5 million VND.
At about 2:00 p.m. on December 5, a woman drove a car with a Nghe An province license plate through a self-opened path intersecting with the North-South railway line through Thien Nhan commune. When crossing the railway, the front wheel on the left side of the vehicle derailed, causing the car to get stuck in the middle of the route.

Discovering the danger, a resident standing in front continuously signaled to warn that the cargo train CS1 was approaching. Ship driver Do Trung Kien immediately brake the train urgently, causing the train to stop about 100m from the car to avoid the collision. People then helped move the car off the rails.
The railway industry assessed the timely handling as especially important because the train pulled 24 cargo cars, with a load of nearly 850 tons, and was moving at high speed, so the braking distance was long. The incident only caused the train to stop for about a minute, without affecting the operations of other trains.
Nghe An province currently has 171 intersections between roads and railways, of which 98 paths are self-opened - places with high potential risk of accidents. In the first 7 months of the year, Nghe An recorded 7 railway accidents, killing 2 people and injuring 6 others.
According to regulations, cars are not allowed to pass through self-opened paths or unsafe level crossings. Driving a vehicle into an intersection in violation of regulations, forcing a vehicle to brake urgently will be subject to a fine and deduction of driving license points.
