Lam Dong - Provincial leaders requested priority in allocating resources to support people affected by floods to repair their houses and restore production to stabilize their lives.

On November 24, at a regular meeting on the socio-economic development situation, Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi requested functional agencies to closely monitor weather developments and arrange resources to support people to repair their houses and soon stabilize their lives.

Accordingly, the Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee requested communes and wards to review and quickly report the damage situation to departments and branches so that localities can soon have a plan to arrange capital and support people.

The Department of Construction and units speed up the repair of landslides on Prenn Pass, Mimosa Pass and some important traffic routes to soon open to traffic, ensuring traffic flow.

A representative of Lam Dong Province's Construction Investment Project Management Board No. 1 said that relevant agencies are urgently implementing to overcome landslides on key traffic routes in the province.

In particular, the landslide on Prenn Pass (Xuan Huong Ward - Da Lat), the construction unit has basically fixed the landslide, ensuring traffic opening on the morning of November 25.

In the field of public investment, the Lam Dong Provincial Department of Finance informed that in November, Lam Dong province only disbursed more than 175 billion VND, reaching 0.9% of the plan, accumulated in the first 11 months of the year only reached 34.1% (equivalent to 6,377 billion VND) compared to the plan.

For key projects and large projects, the province has started the Bao Loc - Lien Khuong Expressway Project; compensation for site clearance and resettlement to serve the North - South high-speed railway project through the province.

At the same time, units and localities are speeding up the progress of the Gia Nghia - Chon Thanh Expressway Project; carrying out compensation and site clearance, resettlement to serve the high-speed railway project on the North - South axis through the province...

According to the leader of the Department of Finance, the implementation of the province's key projects is still limited to the set plan.

In particular, the Bao Loc - Lien Khuong and Tan Phu - Bao Loc Expressway projects have been allocated more than VND 5,024 billion but have not yet been able to disburse.

Faced with the slow disbursement of public investment capital, Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee Ho Van Muoi requested that competent agencies, especially the No. 1 Construction Investment Project Management Board, focus and accelerate in the coming time.

As reported by Lao Dong Newspaper, from November 17 to 23, Lam Dong experienced prolonged heavy rain, causing many communes and wards of the province to be flooded, causing heavy damage to people and property.

Authorities recorded 5 deaths and 1 injury; 2,784 households were affected and had their houses damaged, including 76 houses that collapsed or were swept away by floods; 4,457 hectares of crops, mainly crops, were affected; more than 9,000 livestock and poultry were swept away by floods.

Floods caused landslides and inundation at over 180 points on the route of the province. In particular, many large-scale landslides such as Prenn Pass, Mimosa Pass, National Highway 27C caused significant traffic disruption.

The estimated damage caused by floods in recent days in the province is more than 1,000 billion VND.
