On March 4, Central Party Committee member, Soc Trang Provincial Party Secretary Lam Van Man and Mr. Tran Van Lau - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Trang province - inspected the progress of the Component Project 4 of the Chau Doc - Can Tho - Soc Trang Expressway Construction Investment Project, Phase 1, the section through Soc Trang province (Component Project 4).

According to the report of Project Management Board 2 - Investor of Component Project 4, up to now, 4 construction packages have reached 16.6 - 32.05%. The total implementation value is more than VND 1,824/8,092 billion, reaching 22.6% of the contract value.
Regarding the road, the main route has been filled with sand to the elevation of 12.7/55.8 km of accrete, completing 41.84/55.8 km of service road. The project is also implementing the construction of 39/46 bridges on the route.
There are currently 4 sand mines licensed to supply the Project with a maximum capacity of 1.75 million m3 until June 2025 (the expected completion time of the relocation).

Through on-site inspection, the leaders of Soc Trang province noted that the contractors in arranging construction teams were still behind schedule. The leaders of Soc Trang province requested contractors to urgently arrange more vehicles, work overtime, increase teams and increase construction teams to speed up the progress of the project.
"The project implementation time is not much longer, with the expected completion time frame of June 2025. Therefore, items that rarely affect the source of filling materials (bridges) need to be constructed quickly to compensate for the slow progress", Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Van Lau directed.
The Chairman of the People's Committee of Soc Trang province also requested the contractor to calculate and propose many construction solutions to achieve the set progress. Investors must increase assigned responsibilities, regularly urge, supervise, and promptly report to the Provincial People's Committee if there are difficulties for consideration and resolution.

Mr. Tran Van Lau said that the locality has proactively received sand for filling, so contractors need to increase transportation means, ensuring inspection according to regulations.
"Contractors must mobilize sufficient equipment and means of transportation, ensure full exploitation of licensed capacity and reserves, and bring sand to the project to meet construction progress," Mr. Lau suggested.
