On November 22, Military Region 5 said that the logistics force had opened battle kitchens, cooked thousands of hot meals and transferred them to isolated areas in Tuy Hoa flooded area, Dak Lak.

Right when heavy rain was still covering the eastern part of Dak Lak province, and the floodwaters had not yet receded, many forces of Military Region 5 simultaneously deployed a special mission: opening battle kitchens, cooking thousands of hot meals to evacuated areas. From military medicine to logistics, everyone is on the same page to help the people.

In Phu Hoa 1 commune, Regiment 584 (Dak Lak Provincial Military Command) chose Phu Hoa 1 Kindergarten as the kitchen settingup. In just a small room, the 5 soldiers coordinated with preschool teachers to rotate around with urgent tasks: washing rice, washing vegetables, processing food and cooking large enough soup pots for 100 meals. The unit brought and purchased additional food right in the area.

Governor Y Ja Nie (Ballot 303, Regiment 584) shared that when witnessing the people struggling in the flood, the brothers were determined to cook quickly and just enough to bring rice to each household.

Major Nguyen Duy Khoa - Deputy Chief of Staff of Regiment 584 said that the force is concentrating on the two hot spots of Phu Hoa 1 and Tay Hoa. When the water recedes, the soldiers will organize the cleaning of schools, health stations, and houses, ensuring a clean environment for people to soon stabilize their lives.

Not only in Phu Hoa 1, the rice kitchen in Tuy Hoa ward is also on fire continuously. This was attended by Major Nguyen Thi Hoang Anh ( PTKV 6 - Tuy Hoa Command Board). She and her teammates focus on ensuring food hygiene and packaging quickly so that the meals can be moved in time in the rain and wind.

During a working trip to deeply flooded areas, Senior Lieutenant General Truong Thien To - Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army inspected the Kitchen of the PTKV 6 - Tuy Hoa Command and praised the efforts of the force that is cooking hundreds of meals for the people day and night.

When the rice is just cooked, it is also the time when soldiers get on boats and canoes to become "special shippers", bringing warmth to each family and supporting rescue in emergency cases.

As of this afternoon, the eastern area of Dak Lak province (old Phu Yen) has 9 battle kitchens in operation, of which 7 are according to the "military-Civilian combined" model. The 655 Transport Brigade also increased a specialized field kitchen vehicle to support the Tuy Hoa direction, increasing the capacity to cook hundreds of meals per day.
