A brick factory in Thanh Hoa used water to raise fish and broke the banks of the Le River.

On February 4, a representative of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Thanh Hoa province said that in the afternoon of the same day, a section of Nha Le River (flowing through Quang Yen commune, Quang Xuong district) near Mai Chu brick factory had a landslide (about more than 20 meters), causing river water to overflow into the soil exploitation area of ​​this brick factory.

Also according to the representative of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Thanh Hoa province, this is the river section connecting the Hoang River and the Ly River, with the task of regulating water to fight drought and serve irrigation for agricultural production.

After the incident, Quang Xuong Irrigation Branch (under Song Chu Company) drained the Ly River to limit the amount of water flowing into the Le River.

The initial cause of the landslide was determined to be the brick factory draining water from the Le River to raise fish, causing the bank to break.

Currently, Thanh Hoa authorities have directed Mai Chu brick factory to mobilize equipment and machinery to fix the problem.
