Series of hundred billion road projects in Tuyen Quang are unlikely to finish on time

VIỆT BẮC |

A series of hundred-billion-dong road projects in Tuyen Quang are unlikely to be completed on time in late 2024 and early 2025 due to a number of unresolved issues.

Connecting Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho expressway

The road project from My Lam Mineral Spring Tourist Area to National Highway 2D connecting to Tuyen Quang - Phu Tho Expressway is 8.9km long with a total investment of more than 487 billion VND, designed to urban standards.

The project, invested by the Department of Transport of Tuyen Quang province, started construction at the end of 2021 and is expected to be completed in early 2025. This hundred-billion-dong road project is facing the risk of being behind schedule due to a number of unresolved problems.

According to the reporter's records, most of the nearly 9km of the entire route is under construction, of which more than 5km has been paved with layer 1 asphalt concrete and completed auxiliary items. However, some sections of the route through Tuyen Quang City are still unable to clear the land.

To implement the project, 209 households and individuals with 20.1 hectares of land were acquired. The inventory of land area and assets on land has been completed, but there are still problems with land clearance at more than 10 households in Tuyen Quang City.

Informing reporters, a leader of the People's Committee of Tuyen Quang City confirmed that some sections of the project passing through the area have not yet completed site clearance.

"Currently, the city is actively removing obstacles with households, handing over construction sites, and completing the entire project soon," said the leader of Tuyen Quang City People's Committee.

Hundred billion bypass

The project of bypassing Son Duong town and building a bridge across Pho Day river has a total length of more than 4km, with a total investment of over 329 billion VND, invested by the Department of Transport of Tuyen Quang province. The project started in November 2021 and is expected to be completed in 2024.

By the end of November 2024, after exactly 3 years of implementation, the entire length of the route has been paved with asphalt concrete and auxiliary items such as sidewalks and lighting have been completed.

More than 400m of the final section of the route, after a period of hard rock breaking, now has a flat surface. The contractor is implementing the construction of the roadbed and some auxiliary items.

Meanwhile, the 127m-long Pho Day River overpass, connecting to National Highway 37 at Km188, is still unable to be constructed due to the underground clean water pipeline system of Son Duong town. This is also the largest construction item of the project with a value of more than 50 billion VND.

On November 26, speaking with reporters, a representative of Hiep Phu Company Limited (the contractor for the Pho Day River overpass) said that although the construction site had been handed over, the underground water pipes had not been relocated, so construction could not begin.

"With the current situation, the bridge construction will not be completed by December 2024. We are striving to open the bridge to traffic before Lunar New Year, but the key is still that the problems must be resolved," he said.
