On March 31, according to PV's investigation, Cao Bang Provincial People's Committee issued a decision on the establishment of an inspection team for the safety assessment of dams and hydropower reservoirs before the 2026 rainy season in the province.
The inspection team consists of 26 members, headed by Mr. Ha Van Nam - Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade. The team members are representatives of relevant departments and branches such as the Department of Industry and Trade, Department of Agriculture and Environment, Department of Construction, People's Committees of districts and communes and a number of independent experts on hydropower and hydrology.
According to the decision, the Delegation has the task of inspecting the safety assessment of dams and hydropower reservoirs of project owners in the province, thereby advising the Provincial People's Committee to report the results to the Ministry of Industry and Trade for projects under the province's inspection responsibility.
The list of 10 hydropower projects to be inspected includes: Bao Lam 3, Bao Lam 1, Mong An, Bao Lac B, Bach Dang, Tien Thanh, Hoa Thuan, Binh Long, Na Loa and Thoong Got.
These projects are owned by many businesses such as PC1 Group Joint Stock Company, Northern Energy Investment Joint Stock Company, Bach Dang Hydropower Joint Stock Company...
The inspection team is allowed to use the seal of the Department of Industry and Trade, operates from the date the decision takes effect and self-dissolves after completing the task. The decision takes effect from the date of signing.
The establishment of the Inspection Team aims to ensure the safety of hydropower projects before the rainy and flood season, proactively prevent and minimize natural disaster risks, and protect the safety of life and property of people in the province.
