On the morning of November 17, Mr. Nguyen Trung Truc - Chairman of Nguyen Nghiem Commune People's Committee - said that at around 0:30 a.m. the same day, a tornado suddenly occurred and swept through the residential areas of Phuoc Loi and Tan Son villages, causing dozens of houses to have their roofs blown off and suffered heavy damage. Fortunately, there were no human casualties.
"At least 20 households had their houses damaged. This morning, the locality sent forces to the scene to inspect, support people to rebuild roofs, relocate assets and count the extent of damage to have a support plan," said Mr. Truc.

Many people recounted that the strong gusts of wind appeared in a moment, accompanied by the noisy sound of the corrugated iron roof being blown away, causing the entire area to panic.
In addition to the houses, some cages were also torn apart by the tornado, causing livestock to be wet.

Currently, local authorities recommend that people proactively reinforce roofs and barns during the period of erratic weather and continuous strong winds in recent days.
According to the forecast of the Quang Ngai Provincial Hydrometeorological Station, from November 16 to 18, Quang Ngai will experience widespread heavy rain. The East of Truong Son will have 200400mm of rain, some places over 500mm. The western Truong Son area is 80150mm, some places over 200mm. Prolonged heavy rain risks causing major floods, deep flooding, flash floods and landslides, especially in mountainous areas, low-lying areas, and areas that have been eroded in the previous days.
