On March 28, in Long An province, the Central Emulation and Reward Council - Emulation Cluster of the Southwestern provinces (including 12 provinces) held a conference to summarize the implementation of the emulation covenant in 2024. Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Deputy Head of the Central Emulation and Reward Committee - and leaders of provinces in the Mekong Delta region attended the conference.
According to the report, in general, in 2024, the patriotic emulation movement and reward work of the provinces in the Emulation Cluster will continue to be effective, actively contributing to the implementation of socio-economic development goals and tasks, national defense and security are maintained, many important targets are achieved and exceeded.
The average economic growth rate (GRDP) of the provinces in the Cluster reached 7.3%. Provinces with high growth rates, exceeding the plan such as: Tra Vinh 10.04% to 118.12% of the plan; Hau Giang 8.76% to 116.80% of the plan; Long An 8. 30% to 103.75% of the plan. The remaining provinces grew from 5.65% - 7.50%.
Budget revenue of the provinces in the Cluster exceeded the set plan, with total revenue of VND 114,960.95 billion. Total export turnover reached 25,724 million USD, all provinces exceeded the target. The average income per capita of the Cluster is 79.24 million VND/person/year. Provinces with high per capita income, exceeding the plan such as: Tra Vinh 94.36 million VND, reaching 106.16%; Hau Giang 93.78 million VND, reaching 105.56%; Soc Trang 69.10 reached 105.18%; Long An 107.30 million VND, reaching 102.19%; Vinh Long 85.20 million VND, reaching 101.79%. The remaining provinces have reached 56.8 - 76.4 million VND, reaching 94.2% to 100.79% of the plan.
Through the assessment, emulation work has always received timely attention and direction from provincial leaders, and the work of considering and rewarding must be objective, public, transparent, accurate and timely. The role and responsibility of Party committees and authorities at all levels, especially the leaders in directing and organizing patriotic emulation movements and reward work, are more clearly and drastically demonstrated.
Speaking at the conference, Deputy Head of the Central Emulation and Reward Committee Nguyen Anh Tuan said that 2025 is a year of great significance in completing the 5-year socio-economic development goals of 2020 - 2025. Mr. Tuan suggested that the provinces should strive to continue to effectively implement emulation movements launched by the Central Government; strive to excellently complete the tasks of socio-economic development, ensure national security and defense of the provinces according to the plan; promote the implementation of administrative reform, continue to build a democratic, professional, modern, streamlined, effective, efficient, and effective administration with the capacity to create development, integrity, and serve the people.
At the conference, delegates listened to the announcement of the results of the 2024 emulation judging. With many efforts, in 2024, Long An province ranked first in the Emulation Cluster of the Southwestern provinces with a total score of 951.67.
In 2025, the provinces in the Emulation Cluster agreed to choose Ben Tre province as the Head of the Emulation Cluster of the Southwestern provinces; Tra Vinh province was chosen as the First Deputy Cluster and Bac Lieu province was chosen as the Second Deputy Cluster.
