Heavy rain lasted from the night of November 16 to the morning of November 17, causing water levels to rise, causing severe flooding in Dinh An, Tan An and K'Long villages, Hiep Thanh commune, Lam Dong province.
Ms. Pham Thi Nguyet, a resident of K'Long village, said that at about 1:00 a.m. the same day, water from upstream flowed into Da Tam stream and rose. Floodwaters caused flooding in people's agricultural production areas. At 8:00 a.m., the water flooded National Highway 20, causing traffic disruption.

"Many sections of National Highway 20 are flooded with more than 1m of water, so traffic police have blocked both ends, prohibiting people and vehicles from entering the flooded area. The water rose, the whole storm rolled, we didn't dare to leave the house," said Ms. Nguyet.
Similarly, rising water caused dozens of other households in Hiep Thanh commune to be unable to react. The water quickly poured down, flooding houses, causing many properties and machinery of the people to be submerged in water.

It was recorded that this afternoon, about 2km of National Highway 20 through Hiep Thanh commune was still flooded from 0.4 - 0.5m deep, vehicles could not circulate.
Some alleys in Dinh An residential area and flower growing areas were flooded 0.5-1m deep. Mr. Nguyen Quang Hiep, Chairman of Hiep Thanh Commune People's Committee, informed that on the night of November 16 and early morning of November 17, the flood water rose rapidly and flowed rapidly, causing severe economic damage to local people.
Also that night, the functional forces of Hiep Thanh commune mobilized officers and soldiers to be on duty at vulnerable locations, evacuating people in dangerous areas to safety.

"The flood did not cause any human casualties, but about 50 houses of people were deeply flooded, some were flooded over 2.5m. Floodwaters submerged 200 hectares of vegetables and flowers of all kinds, causing estimated damage of over 3 billion VND, said Mr. Nguyen Quang Hiep.
On the same afternoon, the People's Committee of Hiep Thanh commune coordinated with relevant agencies to support people in overcoming the consequences of floods.
According to the authorities, during the 2 days of November 16-17, Lam Dong province experienced prolonged heavy rain, leading to flooding and landslides in many locations.

Specifically, the authorities recorded landslides on Prenn Pass on National Highway 20 (Xuan Huong - Da Lat Ward) causing traffic paralysis; Song Pha Pass (National Highway 27.7) connecting Da Lat - Phan Rang has many locations at risk of landslides, endangering vehicles.
According to Lam Dong Hydrometeorological Station, on the night of November 16 and 17, floods on Cam Ly River are rising rapidly, warning of flooding in low-lying areas along streams in Lam Vien - Da Lat wards; Xuan Huong - Da Lat wards; Nam Ban Lam Ha, Dinh Van Lam Ha communes, Duc Trong commune, Hiep Thanh...

On the same day, Dai Ninh Hydropower Company (Lam Dong) announced an increase in the discharge flow through the 350m3/s hydropower spillway, with the risk of flooding downstream.
