On April 22, Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Truong Canh Tuyen signed and issued an official dispatch on temporarily suspending training and fostering cadres, civil servants and public employees in 2025.
The document stated that, implementing the policies of the Central Steering Committee, the Government Steering Committee, and the City Steering Committee on the arrangement and streamlining of the administrative apparatus, agencies, units and localities are currently focusing on implementing key and urgent tasks to ensure progress according to direction.

The implementation of provincial-level mergers, no district-level organizations and reorganization of commune-level administrative units requires adjustment of job positions and the number of cadres, civil servants and public employees at agencies, units and localities.
Accordingly, in order to concentrate resources to serve the organization of the administrative apparatus, the Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee assigns the heads of agencies, units and localities to suspend the training and retraining of cadres, civil servants and public employees according to the City People's Committee's Plan No. 02/2025 on suspending training and retraining cadres, civil servants and public employees in 2025, in order to focus on the organization of administrative and enhancing resources.
In addition, the Director of the Department of Home Affairs is assigned to preside over and coordinate with heads of agencies, units and localities to review and adjust the training and development plan for 2025 after completing the organizational arrangement; ensure effective use of resources, avoid budget waste, meet job requirements and be suitable for the actual situation.
