On March 7, MRB informed that the TBM No. 1 tunnel excavator named " expressway" has officially arrived at S10 - Cat Linh station, marking an important milestone in the construction of the Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station urban railway line.
The TBM is the first tunnel excavator to start construction in the CP03 package - tunnel and underground stations of the project. Starting from S9 - Kim Ma station from July 30, 2024, after many months of safe operation, the engine has completed the drilling and installation of a tunnel shell with a length of more than 1,338m to S10 - Cat Linh station, strictly complying with technical and environmental standards.

TBM No. 2 has also started starting from S9 station (Kim Ma station) since February 3, 2025. It is expected that both TBMs will complete all tunnel drilling work by the end of 2025.
"The official arrival of the TBM to Station S10 - Cat Linh is an important step forward for the project. This is the result of continuous efforts to overcome difficulties, as well as close coordination between MRB, Consultants, contractors and stakeholders in ensuring the progress, quality and safety of the project.
This is an important milestone, bringing the project closer to the goal of completing the underground section to serve the people of the capital", said Mr. Nguyen Ba Son - Deputy Head of the Hanoi Railway Management Board.

As of March 2, 2025, the overall construction progress of the CP03 - tunnel and underground stations package has reached 55.38%; The underground slope has been completed 76.63%; Station S9 has completed 50.50%; The vertical well is completed 24.51%; the tunnel has reached 51.48%.
Stations S10, S11, S12 (including lane change and garage) are completed with 64.64%, 58.1%, 59.74%, respectively.
It is expected that the underground section will be completed in 2027, after which the entire urban railway line No. 3, the Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station section will be put into operation, contributing to changing the appearance of the capital, conveniently connecting areas and promoting sustainable development and greening urban traffic.
