By the morning of July 23, many areas in Tuong Duong commune (Nghe An province) had been isolated by floodwaters. Hundreds of houses were heavily flooded, some of which only had the roof.

"Yesterday afternoon, the water of the Ca River only slightly exceeded the embankment, but this morning, an entire area in Thach Giam town (formerly known as Tuong Duong commune - PV) was already flooded. Many houses next to the river now only have a little roof", Ms. Ha Trang (Tuong Duong commune) shared.

People at home are fleeing the flood, while children far from home are also staying up all night worried and cannot rest assured.
"At 3am, it's true to run away with property" - shared Ms. Vo Thi Viet Anh (Tuong Duong commune), when hearing the news that her family had to evacuate urgently at night because the flood rose so quickly, far exceeding all forecasts.
Ms. Viet Anh shared that before that, at around 9pm, the whole family was still reassuring each other over the phone that the rain had stopped, the hydropower plant had released floodwaters but it was probably not worth worrying about. But after only a few hours, the water rose very quickly, people could not react.
"Fortunately, everyone is safe now. My house is now flooded to the roof. The chickenpox has all its affection. The stall for making a living in her mother's market is gone.
Her mother also told her to sleep to go to work tomorrow, while her parents had just gone through a sleepless night in the floodwaters. Thinking but feeling sorry, but feeling sorry, Ms. Viet Anh shared.

"Vinh's house is flooded" - the message was shared in the Facebook chat group of Mr. Dinh Uoc's family (Cam Phuc commune, Nghe An province) on the morning of July 23.
When receiving that news, all family members were worried. He suggested that this chat group was a place for communication between his paternal families.
Due to rising floodwaters, the house of a family member in the area around Chi Khe hydroelectric reservoir (Con Cuong commune) was affected. By 8am this morning, water had flooded into the house.
"There is no need for more people to help move things Vinh; The water has flooded all the roads, people can't get in or out; The brothers at home support each other, the uncles work too far away; The whole family should remind the children and grandchildren not to go near rivers and streams...." - the messages appeared in a series of messages in the chat group, clearly expressing anxiety.

Amidst the immense floodwaters, the warmest thing is not only safety, but also family love, messages of asking questions, hearts always turned to each other - no matter where they are.

Local socio-political organizations are urgently coordinating to count the damage, support people in cleaning up, repairing their houses, and temporarily restoring some roads that have suffered minor landslides.
