Speaking to Lao Dong Newspaper, Mr. Tran Thong Nhat - Vice Chairman of Dong Cuong Commune People's Committee, Lao Cai Province said that on July 21, the locality organized, mobilized, and supported the evacuation of 24 households from dangerous areas to safe places.
As soon as information about storm No. 3 was received, the commune established 24/7 shock teams at village cultural houses to proactively prevent possible storms and floods in the area.
In addition, print signs and posters hanging at village cultural houses to instruct people to recognize signs of landslide risk and safety skills before landslides.



Similarly, in Chau Que commune, Lao Cai province, is a remote locality with isolated terrain, many locations at high risk of landslides.
On the night of July 21, the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control of the commune and village mobilized the evacuation of 98/154 households in the landslide risk area to safe places.


Mr. Pham Trung Kien - Secretary of the Chau Que Commune Party Committee said that the commune government mobilized militia, police, and village forces to divide into two directions to move household items in areas at risk of landslides and arrange temporary accommodation for them for daily activities.


In addition, 11 points on traffic routes at risk of landslides on positive slopes and flood risk points have been put up warning signs by the locality.
In Tan Hop commune, Lao Cai province has taken control of the area with many springs, streams, and rural roads after storm No. 3 in 2024, causing many locations to not be reinforced. Local authorities have mobilized forces to reinforce vulnerable locations on the embankments.


Mr. Ha Trung Kien - Chairman of Tan Hop Commune People's Committee also informed that currently, forces have coordinated with the people to complete the anti-landslide embankment of more than 50m of Khe Phai village road, Tan Hop commune to ensure safe traffic for people during the rainy and flood season.
In addition, the locality has put up warning signs in areas with deep streams, overflow bridges and landslide risk points for people to pay attention to. Establish checkpoints at points and stretch ropes to prohibit people from getting near unsafe areas.
