On July 31, the Department of Animal Husbandry and Fisheries (Department of Agriculture and Environment of Dong Nai province) reported on the situation of rabies epidemics in Tan Loi and Loc Quang communes.
According to the results of the epidemiological investigation of the authorities and the Tan Loi commune government, the death from rabies was Mr. N.K.H. (54 years old, Thach Man hamlet, Tan Loi commune).
Around the beginning of June 2025, Mr. H. was licked by a suspected rabid dog (a domestic domestic domestic goose) on an open wound on his left finger. Mr. H. was not vaccinated against rabies and anti-rabies serum.
On June 16, the dog showed signs of aggression, biting two other dogs to death, so Mr. H. beat him to death.
By July 10, Mr. H. had symptoms such as: fear of water, fear of noise, fear of light and fan power, and inability to eat or drink. Mr. H. went to a number of hospitals for examination and was diagnosed with rabies.
On July 17, Mr. H. died at home. Test results from the Ho Chi Minh City Hospital for Tropical Diseases showed that Mr. H. was positive for the rabies virus.
