A person in Binh Thuan died of suspected rabies

Binh Thuan - A man with signs suspected of rabies has died even though he previously said he had not been scratched or bitten by a dog or cat.

On June 7, the family of Mr. N.T.T said that Mr. T (born in 1976, residing in Tuy Phong district) died after being taken home from the hospital.

According to relatives, Mr. T was normal when on the morning of June 3, he showed signs of fear of water, choking in the neck, and unable to drink water. Relatives took Mr. T to Binh Thuan General Hospital for treatment.

At the Infectious Diseases Department, Mr. T showed additional signs of difficulty breathing, had to use oxygen and the doctors diagnosed Mr. T with symptoms suspected of rabies. After the doctor explained the disease, the family asked to take Mr. T home and he died later.

According to relatives, many months before, when unusual symptoms appeared, Mr. T said he had not been bitten or scratched by dogs and cats. The family said that Mr. T loved dogs very much and often carried dogs at home.
