On April 23, leaders of Tua Thang Commune People's Committee, Dien Bien province said that heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms occurring in the area on the afternoon of April 22 caused damage to houses and infrastructure, estimated at about 450 million VND.
According to preliminary statistics, rain accompanied by thunderstorms caused more than 20 households in hamlet 2 and villages: Huoi Long, Nam Banh, Hong Ngai to have their roofs blown off and houses damaged.
A fish cage in Huoi Trang village was broken, 2 fish tanks were damaged. Some ships and boats anchored were hit and slightly damaged; fortunately, no casualties occurred.
Many inter-village roads are locally blocked due to fallen trees and landslides, affecting people's travel.

Immediately after the storm occurred, the Civil Defense Command of the commune urgently went to the affected areas to inspect, grasp the situation and direct the work of overcoming the consequences.
Currently, the People's Committee of Tua Thang commune is continuing to direct forces to urgently overcome the consequences of natural disasters, clear fallen trees, clear traffic routes, and at the same time visit and support affected households.
