Accordingly, Provincial Road 146, from the center of Bung Lao Commune to Muong Lan Commune (Dien Bien Province), soil and rock from the positive slope collapsed, overflowing onto the road surface at some points. More seriously, some sections of the road were flooded with floodwaters and strong currents, making it difficult for vehicles to move.

On National Highway 279 to Chan village (Bung Lao commune, Dien Bien province), a large amount of rock and soil from the positive slope collapsed, burying the road surface, causing traffic jams in Chan village.
In addition, many other provincial roads in Dien Bien province are also at high risk of landslides and traffic insecurity. Especially the routes running through steep hills and mountains with weak soil.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, in the past 4 hours (from 6am to 10am on July 1), Dien Bien province has had moderate to heavy rain such as: Phi Nhu 3 66.4mm, Phi Nhu 54.7mm... The soil moisture model shows that some areas in the above province are nearly saturated (over 85%) or have reached a saturated state.
In the next 3-6 hours, Dien Bien province will continue to have rain with common accumulated rainfall from 10-30mm, some places over 50mm.
In the next 6 hours, there is a risk of flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes in the above province, especially in the communes/wards: Xa Dung, Muong Lan, Muong Luan, Na Son, Phinh Giang, Pu Nhung, Quai To, Sang Nhe, Tia Dinh, Tuan Giao.
