Accordingly, at around 9:00 a.m. the same day, in the hill behind the house of Mr. Ma Van Sao (born in 1996, Suoi Phai village, old Huu Kien commune, now Quan Son commune), rocks and soil suddenly slid down when his wife, Ms. N.T.H (born in 1996), was going out.
The block of rock and soil about 4m wide and about 50m long buried the victim.
As soon as the news was received, the local authorities and people organized a search. At 2:00 p.m. the same day, the authorities found Ms. H.'s body.
She passed away, leaving behind 3 young children, the youngest of whom is only 18 months old, a poor household in a poor family with extremely difficult circumstances
According to the report of the People's Committee of Quan Son commune, the impact of storm No. 10 (Bualoi) caused prolonged heavy rain, leading to many landslides and flooding.
Many households had to be urgently evacuated, including Mr. Nong Van Lien's household (Suoi Mo village), Mr. Nguyen Van Pi's household (Tham Na village) and Ms. Nguyen Le Dung's household (Me Thinh village) due to landslides; 2 households in Lang Hang village were flooded and were promptly evacuated.
About 0.5 hectares of corn and 0.2 hectares of rice are flooded; many forestry and fishery areas are continuing to be counted.
Some traffic works and irrigation systems are at risk of damage.
The commune government said it will continue to closely monitor the storm's developments, maintain rescue forces, and support the victim's family and overcome the consequences, ensuring the safety of people's lives and property.
