According to the Lao Cai Provincial Department of Construction, at about 7 am on September 17, heavy rain caused a negative taluy landslide on the section from Km16+300 to Km18+300, the road connecting National Highway 32 with Provincial Road 174, belonging to Phinh Ho commune.
At Km16+300, the negative slope is eroded with a length of about 45m; at Km18+000, the landslide area is about 30m long. The landslide causes loss of the foundation and road surface, posing a potential risk of unsafety for people and vehicles.

Immediately after the incident occurred, the Department of Construction directed the road management unit to implement remedial measures, and at the same time coordinated with Phinh Ho Commune Police and functional forces to organize warnings and prohibit traffic through large landslide locations.
From 3:30 PM on September 17th, people and all vehicles are temporarily prohibited from traveling through Km16+300 and Km18+300 on this route. Traffic diversion is carried out until further notice.

Vehicles moving in the direction from Km16+300 to the central area of Phinh Ho commune are guided to follow the route: Km16+300 - National Highway 32 - Km195 - Km200 - Van Chan road - Tram Tau (Provincial Road 174) - Hanh Phuc commune center - road connecting National Highway 32 with Provincial Road 174 - Km18+300 and vice versa.
The Department of Construction requests agencies and units to widely disseminate the traffic diversion plan so that people, businesses and vehicle owners can proactively choose routes, ensuring safety during travel.
