On July 25, Mr. A Duy Khanh - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dak Plo commune, Quang Ngai province said that the authorities have repaired and cleared the route of landslides and rockslides on Provincial Road 673 towards Xop, Ngoc Linh, near Ho Chi Minh road.
Previously, prolonged heavy rain in the mountainous areas caused some locations of Provincial Road 673 to experience landslides, large amounts of soil and mud spilling onto the road, making it impossible for people's vehicles to move.
Upon receiving the news, the Dak Plo commune government and the road management unit used machinery and equipment to clear the rock and soil and cut down large fallen trees. By 11 noon the same day, the road to Xop and Ngoc Linh was open.
"However, the commune government still warns people in mountainous areas about the dangers of traveling through areas prone to landslides, rock slides, affecting traffic safety and life," said Mr. A Duy Khanh.

According to the Quang Ngai Provincial Hydrometeorological Station, from July 28 to July 29, the western area of Truong Son (Quang Ngai province) will have moderate rain, heavy rain, and some places with very heavy rain with rainfall ranging from 3070mm, some places over 100mm. From July 30, heavy rain will gradually decrease.
Heavy rain is likely to cause flooding in low-lying areas, flash floods in small streams, landslides in steep areas, affecting people's lives, daily life and production.
At the same time, it can cause material damage, destroy the environment, bridges, culverts, dams, and roads.
