Floods caused landslides in more than 20 houses in a district in Thanh Hoa

Thanh Hoa - Heavy rain has caused landslides in more than 20 houses in Quan Son district and blocked many traffic routes.

On September 22, according to information from the People's Committee of Quan Son district, Thanh Hoa province, on September 21 and 22, heavy rain occurred in the area, causing landslides and damaging some state and people's properties.

As of noon on September 22, 21 houses in the area had been affected by landslides. Of these, 10 were in Na Meo commune; 2 in Son Dien commune; 1 in Son Thuy commune; 5 in Tam Thanh commune; 1 in Tam Lu commune; 1 in Son Ha commune and 1 in Son Lu town.

In addition, a crack about 300m long and 50-70cm wide appeared behind Cha Khot hill (Na Meo commune), and is at high risk of affecting 8 households, with 34 people.

The floods also knocked down three high-voltage electric poles in Trung Son village, Son Thuy commune; caused a landslide at Km 192+400, National Highway 217, with a volume of about 50m3. In addition, many points on traffic routes such as border patrol roads, inter-commune and inter-village roads were also damaged by landslides.

Currently, the People's Committee of Quan Son district is directing the People's Committees of communes and towns to mobilize forces, with the motto of "4 on-site" to overcome immediate damage, organize evacuation and relocate households at risk of landslides to safe places.
