The landslide is about 200m long (this riverbank area currently has 7 households with about 44 people living). Of which, 3 households had their auxiliary structures and livestock barns collapsed, the most dangerous landslide location is about 30m from the foot of the Lo dike.

By the evening of the same day, the landslide continued to develop strongly and spread widely. Through preliminary inspection and assessment, the main cause of the severe landslide was the impact of storm No. 3, the water level of Lo River rose, the riverbank area in Hong Duong village, Bach Luu commune, Song Lo district was submerged in water about (2+3) m for many days, combined with the riverbank geology being mainly sandy soil without cohesion, when the flood receded, the sliding mass ate deep into the bank.

According to the People's Committee of Vinh Phuc province, the incident directly threatens the safety of the Lo dike, which is responsible for protecting a large area in Song Lo and Lap Thach districts with a protected area of about 14,123 hectares and a population of 164,879 people. In addition, it directly endangers the existing concentrated residential area outside the riverbank.

Currently, local authorities have urgently evacuated people and property from dangerous landslide areas and areas at risk of dangerous landslides.
