At noon on November 20, the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Dak Lak province informed that according to preliminary statistics, the whole province recorded 11 deaths and 4 missing people due to floods. In addition, thousands of houses were submerged in water, and about 8,000 people had to be urgently evacuated to safety.
According to the Dak Lak Department of Construction, the whole province currently has 49 incident points including landslides and deep flooding. The North-South railway system was severely affected with many sections of stone foundation being washed away, sand and dirt overflowing onto the rails and some locations flooded up to 40cm.
In many communes such as Cu Pui, Ea Pan, Krong A, Ea Ba..., the water continued to rise and a series of new landslides appeared. Some suspension bridges were threatened by strong water, and authorities had to set up checkpoints to prohibit them from passing to ensure safety.

At the Forward Command Department, Central Party Committee member, Dak Lak Provincial Party Committee Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet affirmed that the top priority at this time is to focus all efforts to rescue people still stuck in flooded areas and coordinate food and provisions to ensure that people are not hungry.
"At this time, we still have to prioritize saving people and supporting emergency food and clean water for people. The water level of the Ky Lo River branch has decreased, so the authorities have prioritized continuing to rescue people trapped on the roofs. At the same time, focus on supporting food to stabilize people", Mr. Triet emphasized.
