Traffic is cut off, many localities are isolated
The impact of the circulation of storm No. 10 (BUALOI) on September 28 and 29 caused moderate rain, heavy rain, and some places with very heavy rain over a wide area in Lang Son province.
According to the Lang Son Province Hydrometeorological Station, the highest measured rainfall was up to 160 mm: Tan Van Commune 160 mm, Nhan Ly 136 mm, Bac Son 132 mm, Binh Gia 123 mm, Xuan Duong 121 mm, Tri Le 120 mm, Thien Thuat 113 mm.
It is forecasted that on September 30, the whole province will continue to have heavy to very heavy rain with thunderstorms, with common rainfall of 50 - 150 mm, some places over 200 mm; especially warning of heavy rain over 100 mm/3 hours.


Prolonged heavy rain caused local flooding in low-lying areas, along rivers and streams and landslides in many places, seriously affecting traffic and people's lives.
According to the provincial authorities, many major traffic routes have been eroded and deeply flooded.
Specifically, on National Highway 1B, at Km1+550, soil spilled onto the road. Provincial Road 229, traffic jam at Km7; Km20+300 and Km24+625 culverts are deeply flooded, prohibiting all vehicles.

National Highway 4A - 4B, at Km41+200 (Trang Dinh Commune) landslides occupied half of the road; Km8+400 continued to slide; Km19 QL4B was flooded 30 cm, making it difficult for vehicles to move.
Provincial Road 250 (Quan Son Commune), about 30 m3 of rock and soil slid down to Thil Na and Pa Phao villages, blocking the entire route.
Provincial Road 226 suffered serious landslides at Km9+420; National Highway 1 has not recorded landslides, but many sections have large stagnant water, posing a potential risk of loss of control.
A missing person has not been found
In Cai Kinh commune, according to Ms. Dinh Thi Anh Thu, Secretary of the Commune Party Committee, the floodwaters were widespread, and many residential areas were isolated.
Along with that, at around 5:00 p.m. on September 29, at the Dong Ket village overflow culvert, the father and son were swept away by floodwaters while crossing the culvert.
The child was lucky to be rescued by local people in time, while the father was swept away by the rushing water. Rescue forces have urgently deployed a search, but so far have not found the victim.

In Na Sam commune, according to Mr. Do Minh Tuan - Secretary of the Commune Party Committee, as of the morning of September 30, dozens of households have been evacuated, many villages are isolated.
Initial statistics show that 5 houses were flooded, over 20 households had to move their assets and evacuate urgently, 4 houses were landslides into housing areas or ancillary works.
Na La Village, Ban Lech, Dong Tien is currently completely isolated.

Mr. Tuan said: "We have mobilized local forces to support people in evacuating their assets and ensuring the safety of their lives at night. The situation is now temporarily stable.
In Quan Son commune, Mr. Hoang Duc Binh - Vice Chairman of the Commune People's Committee said that dozens of households in Suoi Mo, Thil Na, Me Thinh, Lang Hang... had to be urgently evacuated due to the risk of landslides and flooding; many villages are isolated.

In Chi Lang commune, rising water levels of the Thuong River also caused great damage to houses and crops.
Mr. Nguyen Duc Cuong - Vice Chairman of the Commune People's Committee said that up to now, 80 families have been affected, of which 5 households in Ga Bac village were flooded, 58 households in Thong Nhat 2, Hoa Binh 1, Ga Bac, Doan Ket, Quan Bau - Dong Nguu, Chien Thang, Lang Nguas had to relocate their assets.
Many spillways such as Mo Chao, Dong Mo, and Lang Vac were deeply flooded. It is estimated that 80 hectares of rice, 40 hectares of crops, and 120 hectares of fruit trees were submerged in water.
Ms. Ha Thi Thu (That Khe commune) said: "All night long, people in our house did not sleep, the water rose very quickly, people and the government supported flooded families to move their belongings. By this morning, my house was half-flooded."
As of 10:00 on September 30, traffic in the area was recorded at route DT.239, normal traffic; route DH.53 was still affected by landslides, causing traffic jams at Km14+890 to Km14+960.
DH.58 route at Km4+000 is still deeply flooded, unable to travel; Similarly, DH.59 route at Km5+500, Soong Lu tunnel is also flooded, traffic is completely interrupted.
