From July 1, 2026, the salary of civil servants in the animal quarantine sector will increase due to the adjustment of the base salary from 2.34 million VND to 2.53 million VND/month. In which, main animal quarantine officers can receive salaries from more than 10.1 million VND to more than 16.1 million VND/month, excluding allowances.
According to the provisions of Circular 08/2022/TT-BNNPTNT, civil servants of the animal quarantine sector are subject to the professional and nghiệp vụ salary scale of state officials and civil servants according to Decree 204/2004/ND-CP.
Specifically:
Primary animal quarantine officers apply a salary coefficient from 4.00 to 6.38.
Animal quarantine officers apply coefficients from 2.34 to 4.98.
Animal quarantine technicians apply a coefficient from 1.86 to 4.06.
Civil servant salaries are calculated according to the formula:
Salary = Salary coefficient x Base salary.
Currently, with a base salary of 2.34 million VND/month, main animal quarantine officers receive from 9.36 to 14.93 million VND/month. Animal quarantine officers receive from 5.47 to 11.65 million VND/month, while animal quarantine technicians have salaries from 4.35 to 9.5 million VND/month.
From July 1, 2026, the base salary will increase to 2.53 million VND/month. At that time, the expected salary level of positions will increase correspondingly:
Main animal quarantine officer: from 10.12 to 16.14 million VND/month.
Animal quarantine officers: from 5.94 to 12.59 million VND/month.
Animal quarantine technician: from 4.7 to 10.27 million VND/month.
The above levels do not include allowances and other supplements as prescribed.
The main animal quarantine officer is the force in charge of organizing and supervising animal quarantine, slaughter control, ensuring veterinary hygiene and food safety for products of animal origin. In addition, they also participate in building, evaluating and proposing to improve specialized processes and standards.
