The water level at many hydropower reservoirs across the country fluctuates around the normal water level, the reservoirs mainly generate electricity through power plants, without opening surface discharge gates.

According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 2:00 PM on February 12, in the Northwest region, Son La Lake is at an elevation of 214.51m, close to the normal water level of 215m. The water flow to the lake reached 351 m3/s, the total discharge flow was 907 m3/s, all through the plant.

Similarly, Hoa Binh reservoir is at 112.35m (below the normal water level of 117m), with a flow rate of 440 m3/s, discharging 984 m3/s through the plant.

Lai Chau Lake recorded a water level of 293.5m, close to the normal elevation level of 295m, flow rate of 109 m3/s and has not yet been discharged.

Huo Huoi Quang Lake reached an elevation of 370.03m, approximately the normal water level of 370m; inflow 280 m3/s, discharge 263 m3/s through the plant.

Meanwhile, Ban Chat reservoir discharges 275 m3/s through the plant even though the inflow is only 9 m3/s.

In the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang reservoir reached a water level of 113.75m (normal water level of 120m), flow rate of 50 m3/s, total discharge of 123.59 m3/s through the plant.

In the North Central region, Trung Son and Khe Bo reservoirs maintain discharge through the plant with flow rates of 76 m3/s and 107.6 m3/s respectively. Ban Ve and Quang Tri reservoirs have not yet discharged even though water has flowed into the reservoirs.

In the South Central Coast and Central Highlands regions, most of the reservoirs operate mainly for power generation.

Notably, Thuong Kon Tum reservoir is at altitude 1.159.98m, close to the normal water level 1.160m; total discharge flow 32.07 m3/s, of which 5.8 m3/s through the spillway and 26.27 m3/s through the plant.

An Khe Lake discharges 8 m3/s through the spillway and opens 1 surface discharge gate. Srepok 3 Lake discharges 0.86 m3/s through the spillway, opens 2 deep discharge gates.

In the Southeast region, Tri An reservoir reached an altitude of 61.75m (normal water level of 62m), the flow rate reached 130 m3/s and has not yet been discharged.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the weather forecast for February 12th, the Northeast region will have light rain, drizzle and fog at night and in the morning. Cold at night and in the morning.

The Southern region will have rain at night, scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places, showers and thunderstorms in some places during the day.
