The water level at many large hydropower reservoirs across the country is below the normal water level, but still ensures power generation.

According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 10:00 AM on April 3, in the Northern region, reservoirs on the Da River cascade continued to discharge electricity at a high level.

Notably, Hoa Binh Hydropower recorded a water flow to the reservoir of 1,044 m3/s, the total discharge flow reached 1,778 m3/s through the plant; the reservoir water level reached 116.07 m, lower than the normal water level by less than 1 m.

At the same time, Son La Hydropower discharged 819 m3/s; Lai Chau Hydropower discharged 165 m3/s.

Some other reservoirs such as Tuyen Quang Hydropower discharged 120.25 m3/s and Thac Ba Hydropower discharged 290.24 m3/s. Meanwhile, Ban Chat and Huoi Quang reservoirs have almost not been discharged due to low water inflow.

In the North Central region, hydropower reservoirs maintain electricity generation at an average level. Ban Ve Hydropower discharges 256 m3/s; Trung Son Hydropower discharges 82 m3/s; Khe Bo reservoir discharges 95.5 m3/s and Quang Tri reservoir discharges 18 m3/s.

The South Central Coast and Central Highlands regions recorded low water flow to many reservoirs, mainly generating electricity according to system demand. Song Tranh 2 Hydropower discharged 206 m3/s; Ba Ha River discharged 125 m3/s; Hinh River discharged 53.28 m3/s.

In the Central Highlands, Ialy Hydropower discharged 176 m3/s; Se San 3 discharged 304 m3/s; Se San 3A discharged 282 m3/s. Some reservoirs discharge through deep gates or overflows with small flow rates such as Buon Kuop, Srepok 3, An Khe.

In the Southeast region, Tri An Hydropower has a water flow to the reservoir of 120 m3/s, with a total discharge flow of 768 m3/s through the plant.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, the weather forecast for April 3rd, the Northern region has light rain in some places, early morning fog and light fog scattered, sunny skies in the afternoon; especially in the late afternoon tomorrow, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain. In thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.
