According to updates from Vietnam Electricity Group, as of 10:00 AM on February 4, 2026, Hoa Binh reservoir recorded upstream water level at an elevation of 111.53m; water inflow to the reservoir reached 725m3/s; total discharge through the plant is 718m3/s.
At Tuyen Quang reservoir, by 9:00 AM on February 4th, the upstream water level reached 113.72m; water inflow to the reservoir reached 105m3/s; total discharge volume 385.09m3/s.
Implementing the Inter-reservoir Operation Procedure on the Red River basin, Tuyen Quang Hydropower Plant has closed the bottom discharge gate of Tuyen Quang Hydropower Plant, currently only maintaining power generation through generating units.
As of 10:00 AM on February 4th, Son La Lake recorded an upstream water level of 214.75m; water flow to lake 1. 156m3/s; total discharge volume reached 183m3/s. Currently, the unit has closed all bottom discharge gates, only maintaining power generation through generating units to regulate downstream flow.
A similar situation occurred at Lai Chau reservoir, where the upstream water level reached 294.06m; water inflow to the reservoir reached 212m3/s; total discharge volume 827m3/s. Currently, Lai Chau Hydropower Plant has also closed all surface discharge gates, only operating power generation through generating units.
At Thac Ba Lake, as of 10:00 AM on February 4th, the upstream water level reached 55.37m; water inflow to the lake was only 76m3/s; total discharge volume was 450.44m3/s; no overflow discharge.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, today, February 4th, the Northern region will have light rain in some places, fog in the early morning, sunny skies in the afternoon. Cold at night and in the morning, deep cold in some mountainous areas.
The Southern region has light rain in some places at night, sunny during the day.
