The lake's water level is more than 61m, the largest hydroelectric project in the South has doubled the spillway discharge

Dong Nai - The water level of Tri An hydroelectric reservoir has risen to more than 61 m and will be increased from 1:00 p.m. on October 2 with the amount of water released through the spillway being 640 m3/s.

On October 2, Tri An Hydropower Company announced an increase in the water flow through the spillway to regulate the Tri An hydropower reservoir.

At 8:00 a.m. on October 2, the water level in the lake was more than 61.3 m, the downstream water level at the factory was 5.1 m, the water flow to the lake was more than 1,800 m3/s.

To ensure flood prevention capacity, combined with the low water level downstream at Bien Hoa hydrological station, the company is increasing the amount of water released through the spillway to regulate the reservoir.

The time to increase spillway discharge is 1:00 p.m. on October 2, the amount of water released through the spillway is 640 m3/s, double the current discharge level.

At that time, the water flow through the power turbine is from 750 - 820 m3/s, the total water flow downstream is from 1,390 - 1,460 m3/s.

Then, depending on the weather and the water flow to the lake, the water level of Tri An Hydropower Reservoir, the water level downstream at Bien Hoa hydrological station, the company can change the water flow discharged through the spillway.

Previously, at 1:00 p.m. on September 30, Tri An Hydropower Plant conducted a spillway with a water flow through the dam of 160 m3/s. By 4:00 p.m. on September 30, Tri An Hydropower Plant doubled the water flow through the dam, to 320 m3/s.

Tri An Hydropower Plant has been in use since 1991 with 4 generators, with a total designed capacity of 400MW. This is the largest hydropower project in the Southern region, contributing greatly to the national grid, helping to regulate domestic and production water sources, push salinity and regulate floods in downstream areas.
