To ensure safe operation of the plant and safety of downstream areas, hydropower plants in the Chay River basin have announced the release of floodwaters from reservoirs, in which some hydropower plants have increased their discharge level to more than 1,000 m3/s
Accordingly, at 10:00 p.m. on September 29, Bac Ha Hydropower Joint Stock Company issued a notice that the discharge through the spillway was 671.66 m3/s; the discharge through the generators was 187.20 m3/s; the total discharge downstream was 858.86 m3/s.
Along with Bac Ha Hydropower Plant, on the evening of September 29, hydropower plants in the Chay River basin, including: Bao Nhai Hydropower Plant level 1, Bao Nhai Hydropower Plant level 2, Nam Luc Hydropower Plant, Vinh Ha Hydropower Plant, Phuc Long Hydropower Plant, Thac Ba Hydropower Plant also announced an increase in flood discharge flow downstream compared to previous days.





Bao Nhai Hydropower Plant level 1 announced at 9:53 p.m., the total flood discharge downstream was 752 m3/s. The factory operates normally, ensuring safety.
Bao Nhai Hydropower Plant level 2 announced at 22:03, the total downstream flow is 817 m3/s.
Nam Luc Hydropower Plant announced that at 10:00 p.m., the total downstream discharge was 1,008 m3/s.
Vinh Ha Hydropower Plant announced at 22:03, the total downstream discharge was 1,155 m3/s.
Phuc Long Hydropower Plant announced that at 22:06, the total discharge flow downstream is 1,295 m3/s, by 0:30 on September 30, the discharge flow will increase from 1,600 m3/s - 2,650 m3/s.
Thac Ba Hydropower Plant announced that at 10:00 p.m., the total water flow to the lake was 4,110 m3/s, the total downstream flow was 366 m3/s.
In the face of simultaneous flood discharge from hydropower plants causing water levels on the Chay River to rise, localities downstream of the hydropower plant are urgently deploying, inspecting, reviewing, and continuing to propagate and instruct people to stay away from, avoid, and ensure the safety of life and property.
