According to data from Vietnam Electricity Group, at 10:30 am on April 8, at Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant, the reservoir water level was at an elevation of 115.32 m, 1.68 m lower than the normal water level. The water flow to the reservoir was 40 m3/s, but the total discharge through power generation reached 1,389 m3/s.
On the same Da River system, Son La Hydropower is discharging 616 m3/s while water inflow to the reservoir reaches 89 m3/s.
Lai Chau Hydropower has a flow rate of 96 m3/s and has not yet discharged.
The two terraced lakes Huoi Quang and Ban Chat recorded low water flow (5-6 m3/s), without discharging electricity.
In the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang Hydropower is discharging 121.06 m3/s, 50 m3/s higher than the water flow to the reservoir.
Thac Ba Hydropower discharged 70.07 m3/s, equivalent to the amount of water flowing into the reservoir.
