According to updated data at 1:30 PM on July 6, in the Northwest area, Hoa Binh reservoir has an upstream water level of 102.52 m, 14.48 m lower than the normal water level (117 m). Water flow to the reservoir reached 3,633 m3/s, total discharge volume 2,876 m3/s, all through the plant, no overflow discharge.
Son La Lake has a water level of 194.18 m, 20.82 m lower than the normal water level (215 m). Water flow to the lake reached 3.731 m3/s, total discharge volume 3,175 m3/s, all through the plant.
Lai Chau Lake recorded a water level of 285.15 m, nearly 10 m lower than the normal water level (295 m). The lake receives 1,272 m3/s of water and generates electricity with a flow rate of 1,541 m3/s, without discharging through the spillway.
Meanwhile, Huoi Quang Lake reached 368.92 m, only about 1.08 m away from the normal water level, being one of the lakes with the highest water level in the area. Ban Chat Lake is at 455.57 m, about 19.43 m lower than the normal water level.
In the Northeast region, Tuyen Quang reservoir has a water level of 108.52 m, 11.48 m lower than the normal water level. The reservoir is discharging a total of 1,223.78 m3/s, of which 521 m3/s is through the spillway and 702.78 m3/s through the plant, maintaining 1 deep discharge gate.
In the North Central region, Trung Son, Ban Ve and Quang Tri reservoirs all do not discharge floodwater. Khe Bo reservoir alone generates electricity with a flow rate of 220.4 m3/s.
In the South Central Coast and Central Highlands regions, most reservoirs such as A Vuong, Song Tranh 2, Song Ba Ha, Ia Ly, Pleikrông, Se San 4, Dong Nai 3, Ham Thuan... do not open spillway gates.
Only some reservoirs discharge through dams, including An Khe with 4 m3/s through spillway and 1 surface discharge gate; Buon Kuop discharges 14.97 m3/s through spillway and maintains 1 deep discharge gate.
According to the forecast of the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, on July 6, the Northwest region will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with locally heavy rain. The Northeast region will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, with locally heavy rain.
