Information from the Steering Committee on merging and arranging provincial-level administrative units and establishing the Can Tho City Party Committee after merging and consolidating provincial-level administrative units (Steering Committee) said that on June 30, 2025, a ceremony will be held to announce the National Assembly's Resolution on the arrangement of provincial and commune-level administrative units; the Central Decision on the establishment of the Can Tho City Party Committee and personnel for Can Tho City leaders; along with the Decisions of the Can Tho City Party Committee on organizational apparatus and personnel work.
The new political system of Can Tho city will officially operate from July 1, 2025 in accordance with the Party's policies and resolutions, implementing the 2-level local government model on schedule, streamlined, efficient, effective, smooth, close to the people, close to the people, promptly serving the practical interests of the people.
At the announcement ceremony, many important decisions will be announced, including the National Assembly's Resolution on the arrangement of provincial-level administrative units; the Politburo's Decision on the establishment of the Can Tho City Party Committee and the appointment of the Executive Committee, Standing Committee, Secretary, Deputy Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee for the 2020 - 2025 term; The Secretariat's Decision on the appointment of the Inspection Committee, Chairman, Vice Chairmen of the Can Tho City Party Committee's Inspection Committee; Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the appointment of Chairman, Vice Chairman of the City People's Council; Heads of the City People's Council's Committees; Head of the Youth Union, Deputy Head of the Can Tho City People's Committee's National Assembly Delegation; Decision of the Prime Minister on the appointment of Chairman, Vice Chairmen of the Can Tho City People's Committee; Resolution of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee on the establishment of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.
In addition, Resolutions and Decisions related to the organization of the apparatus and personnel for commune-level leaders were also announced, including the arrangement of commune-level administrative units; ending the activities of district-level Party Committees; establishing new Party Committees of communes and wards; and appointing personnel for the Party Executive Committee, Standing Committee of the Commune Party Committee, Chairman, Vice Chairman and related positions at the commune and ward levels.
The ceremony will be held live at the Can Tho City bridge and connected online to 103 new commune and ward bridges, and broadcast live on Can Tho City Radio and Television Station, Soc Trang and Hau Giang.
