On the evening of July 21, Mr. Le Hong Thai - Chairman of the People's Committee of Nhon Mai commune, Nghe An province - informed that the local government, Border Guard forces, youth... had evacuated 19 households from areas at risk of landslides and flash floods.
According to Mr. Thai, these are households located in areas at high risk of landslides, since the flash flood on the evening of May 29.
From the night of July 19 to now, Nhon Mai commune has often had heavy to very heavy rain, with a high risk of landslides. Therefore, the local government relocated all 19 households with 65 people in this high-risk landslide area to the village's community cultural house. The preparation of temporary accommodation for the people was also urgently completed.
By the evening of July 21, the Nhon Mai commune government, local militia and support from the Nhon Mai Border Guard Station had completed the construction of temporary shelters, arranging accommodation, accommodation and activities for people at the village community cultural house.
Local leaders and functional forces were directly present to give necessities, encourage people to take shelter from the storm, and ensure the safety of their lives.
