Provincial leaders and departments, branches and units of Quang Ninh were present in key places to inspect and direct the work of preventing and fighting storm No. 3 (storm Wipha).
The Military Region 3 Command and the Quang Ninh Provincial Military Command mobilized a total of more than 2,660 officers and soldiers along with hundreds of specialized vehicles.
Of which, the Quang Ninh Provincial Armed Forces mobilized 1,228 officers and soldiers; 27 cars of all kinds; 10 ships and 32 boats.
The joint forces from units under Military Region 3 provided 1,435 officers and soldiers; 41 cars; 8 ships, 27 boats; 6 special vehicles.
All are ready at assigned locations, on duty 24/7, ensuring timely response to all situations.
By this morning, Quang Ninh had organized the evacuation of 7,518 people in aquaculture areas to safe shore and is continuing to review and complete this work.
According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, at 10:00 a.m. on July 21, the center of the storm was at about 21.2 degrees North latitude; 109.6 degrees East longitude; about 190 km east of Quang Ninh. The strongest wind is level 9, gusting to level 11. The storm is moving west-southwest at a speed of 15-20 km/h.
