On July 8, information from the Nghe An Provincial Department of Construction said that currently, the authorities are coordinating with local authorities to mobilize forces and means to overcome the consequences of the landslide on National Highway 16.
Previously, on the evening of July 6, a heavy rain lasting more than 2 hours caused dozens of tons of soil and rock from the cliff to overflow, burying National Highway 16 through Co Ha village, Nhon Mai commune, Nghe An province. Rocks and soil blocked the road, "disappearing" a section of about 30m long, making it impossible for vehicles and people to move.
That same night, Nhon Mai Border Guard Station (Nghe An Border Guard) coordinated with local authorities to block and guard both ends, not allowing vehicles to pass through the dangerous area.

By the morning of July 7, the forces of Tri Le Road Management Department (Nghe An Department of Construction), border guards and commune authorities had mobilized machinery and human resources to organize the clearance of the embankment of soil and rock on the road.
By the morning of July 8, National Highway 16 through Co Ha village had temporarily closed. However, the rocks and soil are scattered, and mud water continues to flow down, making it very difficult for people to travel, posing a high potential danger.
Currently, local authorities and functional agencies are urgently monitoring, guarding 24/24 hours and making response plans in case of continued heavy rain causing landslides.
