Ms. Pit Thi Ha - Chairman of Na Loi Commune People's Committee - said that from July 3 to the morning of July 6, there was continuous heavy rain accompanied by flash floods and flash floods in the area. It is worrying that heavy rains and floods occur mainly at night, endangering people's lives and property.
Fortunately, the houses directly affected by the landslides in the past 3 days have gone to work far away, so there were no casualties. Na Loi commune currently has many landslides on inter-village and inter-commune roads.
On the night of July 5, heavy rain, water from the streams poured down, damaging traffic routes and cutting off some villages. A temporary bridge in Na Loi 2 village was washed away, the road connecting the commune center with Xuoi San and Pieng Lau was temporarily cut off, and traffic was interrupted.
Notably, a car carrying equipment while trying to cross a deeply flooded road overturned on the side of the stream. The authorities and people had to use ropes to pull the rope and stuck the cake for many hours to get the vehicle out of the dangerous location.

According to a quick report, many households in the area had to be urgently evacuated due to the risk of further landslides. Highland villages such as Huoi Khai 2, Pha Khao and Huoi Thum are being closely monitored due to steep terrain and weak soil after many consecutive rains.
Na Loi commune is coordinating with border guards, militia and local people to mobilize machinery and human resources to urgently repair temporary roads and level rocks and soil. Local authorities are also reviewing households in dangerous areas to organize timely evacuation.
Local authorities recommend that people should not travel through areas with overflowing ground and mountain slopes at risk of landslides. At the same time, proactively monitor warnings from authorities to ensure safety of life.
