On the morning of August 8, Major Tran Quoc Khanh - Head of Tam Thanh Border Guard Station (Da Nang City Border Guard) said that the unit is coordinating with functional forces and people to urgently search for Mr. Phan Dinh Hong (72 years old, residing in Hoa Thuong block, Quang Phu ward, Da Nang city) who went missing while fishing at sea.
Previously, at around 3am on August 7, Mr. Hong rowed a basket boat under 6m long to the sea to fish. However, by evening, Mr. Hong had not returned, and the people reported to Tam Thanh Border Guard Station at 4:30 p.m. the same day.

As soon as the information was received, the unit deployed 5 officers and soldiers to coordinate with local forces to search along the coast. At 5:00 p.m., Mr. Hong's boat was found drifting ashore in Long Thanh village (Tam Xuan commune, Da Nang city) but could not find the person.
The authorities mobilized 3 vehicles and 8 officers and soldiers to search overnight at sea and along the shore but have not yet had results.
This morning, the search work was divided into 3 directions: using canoes to sweep the sea, coordinating with the National Defense Forces of Area 4 - Ban Thach with the military and the Quang Phu Ward Police to review along the shore, and expanding the search in Tam Xuan and Tam Anh communes.

Tam Thanh Border Guard Station has requested the People's Committee of Quang Phu Ward to continue mobilizing forces and notifying fishermen operating in the area to coordinate and provide information to soon find the victim.
